What is TikTok Shop?

TikTok Shop is a new feature that allows users to shop directly from the app. When a user is swiping through videos and finds one that talks about a product, they can link to the product and sell it directly within the video. As a user, you will see a little box on the bottom that says "Shop Now." It will bring up a quick little window where you can see a little bit more about the product, and you can simply tap "Buy Now." This is way more streamlined than affiliate links or other ways to link the products that then bring you into a browser. Having everything within the TikTok app makes it incredibly easy for a user to just see the product, impulse buy, and boom, the purchase is done.

How to Set Up Your TikTok Shop

Setting up your TikTok Shop is very simple to do. If you already have an online store, that's fine; you can link it. If you don't have an online store, we'll show you how to set one up in just a minute. Regardless, you will start off by going to santellmedia.com/TikTokShop.

Registering Your Business

The first step is to register your business. You will need to enter your email address and complete a little verification to prove that you are indeed a human. Then, you will receive a code sent to your email, and you can input your password. Next, you will need to answer a couple of questions about your business. If you're setting up under your own name and don't have a business registered yet, "Individual" is going to be your option. If you're running your business as a sole proprietor, which is basically an individual but set up as a business, that's going to be your option. Then, you will need to select "Corporation" or "Partnership." If you are currently just an individual and you want to set up an LLC, we'll link a video down below that shows you how to make an LLC for a pretty low cost.

Adding Your First Product

The next step is to add your first product. You can upload manually and make a product and only sell on TikTok, but we don't recommend doing that. We recommend syncing an online store. The advantage here over uploading manually is that you are able to have one central hub, one store run through Shopify that you can then sell on TikTok, on Instagram, on your own website, on Facebook, or anywhere else you might want to sell it.

Connecting Your TikTok Account

Once you have your online store set up, you can connect it to your TikTok account. To do this, you will need to install the TikTok app on Shopify. This gives you the ability to sell on TikTok and run ads on the platform that are integrated well with your online store.

Tagging Your Products

When you're editing your TikTok, you'll see right near the middle where it says "Add Link," you can tap on "Products and More" and add a product from there. That way, when somebody's watching this TikTok, if it shows up organically or if you decide to promote it, people can easily click on that and then buy the product through TikTok very easily.

Running Ads on TikTok

If you ever decide to run ads, when somebody clicks on an ad and then they go and add something to the cart but then they don't purchase, you'll know, and that'll all be tracked, and you can optimize the ads accordingly.
