I like ARP. These bolts were fine, it is the description that is off. They are "Gen 3/LS series small block" flywheel bolts. They have an under head length of 0.880". A rule of thumb is to have 1.5 diameters (that means at least 0.650" for an 11mm bolt- more is better!) of thread engagement as a minimum, I would rather have more than that. Especially when the female threads are the stock cast crank on my LS2, with a little chamfer that further reduces thread engagement. My stock flywheel is 0.315 thick...leaving 0.565" minus the chamfer, so maybe 0.520" of thread engagement. Way under the minimum of 0.650" that would just be 'enough'. The strength of the bolt material doesn't help the now overloaded female threads of the cast crank. I called ARP's tech line, who implied that my flywheel was oddly thick or something. I don't think 0.315 is...in fact, I'd rather it be thicker. Anyway, they suggested their 234-2801 bolts, which are 1.125 long, under the head. I'm happy. I work on airplanes, and have access to aircraft hardware (Not in this 11x1.5 size) but when I need to really trust fasteners, I order ARP stuff. Beware of people selling car parts touting aircraft this or that, aircraft aluminum, etc. It is B.S. I don't know what "aircraft aluminum " even is, they are made from pretty standard industry alloys.. 2024 sheet, 7075 forgings, 5052 tubing, etc. ARP does not use this dishonest tactic, and deserves credit for it. I felt the need to point this out after giving something other than 5 stars to them. The description is important, though. These bolts are closer to the right length for a flex plate than a flywheel.

Awesome hardware! I used these on an LS7 clutch install on my 2005 Chevy Corvette. I needed to replace the clutch in my Corvette - and used the ARP hardware to tighten everything down. I did not use the assembly lube that was provided - I used Red Loctite on the bolts to make sure the bolts didn't back out.
