This stuff is pretty amazing. Like a few other reviewers, I used it for the air suspension fitting on my car. And it resulted in zero leaks. My bags and tank will retain pressure for a week and that's as far as I've tested it. And this was all after the first installation. The stuff is messy. Very messy. Complete clean-up requires some kind of spray or cleaner. It will not completely clean up with just a cloth or rag. That'll leave white marks from the sealant. A little spray cleaner should fix it. Any rag I used for extensive clean-up typically ended up in the trash because it doesn't harden or dry. Those negatives are worth the result, though. I hate Teflon tape with a passion, and this stuff allowed me not to even have to touch the stuff.

Stuff seems to work well, very sticky, like thick honey. 4 stars because it’ll be nearly impossible to use more than half the small bottle I think, because it’s so thick and sticky it’ll be hard to get it all out. Basically twice as expensive. Needs a better way of dispensing it. A syringe would be great or a pen type applicator.

I took a long time deciding whether to do this as a project. Finally bit the bullet and ordered the stuff along with the 1" backer rod. Installation was easy and results were pretty good. One thing that I might have changed... instead of backer rod, one video suggested using play sand to fill in the cracks.. and then place the sealant on top of that. That saves on backer rod.. but I think it requires more sealant to do the job right. But one thing a friend did that was pretty neat was spread sand on top of the sealant to give it more of a mortar look. Either way, I do not have grass in my cracks... and I hope it stays that way :)

Refrigeration Technologies RT201B NYLOG-GASKET/THREAD SEALANT I used this sealant on all the flare connections of a recent mini-split installation. Used a tiny stiff paint brush to smear this sticky gel on the male and female flares, on the male & female threads, and on both sides of copper flare gaskets. There's way more than enough to do one heat pump install. For brass-to-brass flare connections, add a copper flare gasket. Without a copper gasket, you're left with a leak-prone brass-on-brass connection – and even with this sealant, given that HVAC-R systems operate at very high pressures, it might leak. That’s because brass is too hard to reliably conform to minor flare imperfections, whereas softer [flare gasket] copper is more likely to conform and result in no leaks. For example:  I used a Yellow Jacket vacuum pump to achieve a deep vacuum (near 30" Hg), then closed a hose's ball valve, and waited two hours. The vacuum gauge didn't change its reading, indicating that there were NO leaks. Several months later, there have been no leaks, and I don’t expect any. That Pioneer mini-split does a terrific job on cooling and heating. Worth every penny & highly recommended for R410A flare fittings. ... Customer Images: to the right of the unit, mounted on the wall, is a Sporlan model HPC-103 bi-directional filter / drier, which, according to Sporlan, absorbs refrigerant moisture, acid, solid contaminants, and varnish from oil breakdown. Above the filter is a Sporlan SA-12FM “See-All” sight glass. I.e., with the mini-split running, you can plainly see the refrigerant swirling past the sight glass and the center spot is green [indicating dry] as it is supposed to be. This would be useful information for an HVAC technician servicing the system.
