Even use it as you would panko. I like it best sprinkled over salads, but it also works with rice and lots of other dishes to add a little crunchiness and taste. It invites experimentation. It's a brilliant idea to save bits of tempura from the fryer instead of throwing it out. Tenkasu is the food you didn't know you need!

These leftover tempura bits are so good! They are crunchy little bits of deliciousness. One of my husband’s favorite sushi rolls has these little bits in it & now he can sprinkle them in sandwiches, over rice, over noodles, over salad, etc. Yes, these are good on their own too. It’s hilarious that yes, there is a market for the leftover bits of tempura…..but you know you want this. I mean, come on, don’t we eat tempura or fried food mainly for the crispy outside part?

These are actual tempura bits. They are crunchy and have a slight hint of shrimp taste to them. They are a bit greasy but taste good on things. Eating them alone I personally wouldn't do. I have put them in a sand which, soups and salads. The bag isn't fully filled see picture , I want to say half filled. Also received end of June and they expire mid November. The bag will last a while.
Swashbuckle Snacks Tenkasu Tempura Bits are crunchy, flaky and light. Mine had a fishy smell out the bag. Didn't effect taste, which was somewhat bland, but satisfying. I put a few teaspoons on my salad in place of croutons. Taste great.

I added some of this tempura bits to my salad last night. Loved the tasty crunch that was added to it. Pieces are small so they're easy to add to anything. I even liked taking a small bowl and just snacking on some. I didn't taste any type of grease flavor. Nothing but good after taste. Not sure what I'll be adding it to next. Like having it so we can add a bit more texture and flavor to certain dishes. Because of the high humidity this summer, I am keeping leftovers in an air tight container to keep it fresh. Nice size bag. Should last a long time here.
These are a great topping for salads. We love to make salads with noodles, radishes, lettuce and miso dressing. This is a great pairing. I didn’t notice the squid flavoring in the ingredients until I smelled these. I’m a vegetarian so these will be for my hubby. The reason for the one star deduction is that it’s a little hard for me to justify the price, I get 3.5 oz of wonton strips at the grocery store for $1.99.

For what it's worth, mine has a best before date of about 4.5 months from now. Contains egg, soy and wheat. Made in Japan as expected. Overall, I really like these tempura bits. Great taste and texture. If you like tempuras, you will like these little bits. Good stuff.

These are pretty bland. Not for me. I like tempura but some seasoning would be nice.
OK this is an awesome snack. I never knew about until I found this and I'm so glad I did. This isn't something you're going to sit down and just eat handful after handful but you can snack on some of it by itself. Just understand you cannot escape the taste of shrimp because of the smell, this is a selling point for me and I'm all for it but just be aware. The main thing I use this for is adding crunch to my salads and it's been great plus this has been four year old approved and I'm all for her exploring different things to eat, especially when she wants to eat more of it.
