So... We’re painting miniatures, and we did a primer test. We choose a few “retail” hardware primers, as well some “miniature specialty” primers. This is my favorite. AP has great covering and is so light. And the color selection blows everyone else away. Sure, you may only really need “white, black, gray”... but why? I’ve actually base coated with some of their “primer” colors with no regrets. I’m becoming an AP Groupie. I own it.
I like Army Painter paints, but this primer has a tendency to spray on like Christmas Tree flocking. The result is a very powdery, uneven foundation.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Not even half way through the can it started spraying by itself until most of the air / paint was gone. Once I finally got it to stop it then would only spray thick globs (which ruined my miniatures I was priming). Complete junk. I think I primed 10 - 15 figures... Waste of money.
Not my first time using primer never have had issues with primer. I don't know if I just got a bad can but it just came out as dust barely painted the miniature I mostly just had white dust all over my garage and then it started spraying by itself until it just sprayed spittle

They should have asked better rating questions. I still do not know what sheerness is and the thickness rating is misleading. This primer is amazing. It coats well and bonds as it dries so as long as you don't drown your miniature all the detail is still there. I prefer the white but i have tried their brown and blue. Each base gives you a slightly different final look. Which you can use to accentuate the same model on a team.

Last year was the first time I had tried this brand primer for Warhammer 40k guys and it worked fine. I ran out, and ordered another. The second can was complete garbage and any paint I tried to put on ran right off, or if it stuck at all discolored and turned a grayish shade. Its worth the extra money to go with one of the other top brands. Having to strip, repaint, and redo everything stinks.

I regret buying this only because white is not a good base for the things I am painting. Since I had to use it to fond that out, I'm stuck with a product I can't use anymore. I also don't really like how my paint sits on this primer. I don't have that issue with my grey or black.

I just started to put it on my table and it seems to be wiping the paint off. I painted the table 2 weeks ago so it's definitely dry. Also, I hate the smell. It doesn't smell natural at all.
