First of all I have a 2004 honda civic ex so the description about this device is only compatible with 2008 and newer models is a bit misleading. It can work if your car has obd 2. The setup was fairly straightforward the box contains the hud, obd2 cable, a sticky base adhesive for the hud to mount to your dashboard, a micro USB to USB A cable(for those cars without obd 2) and a mirror like reflective plastic sheet to stick to your windshield. It took a minute for me to figure out how to place the hud so the letters would appear in the right direction on the reflective sheet but I ultimately figured it out. As other users have stated the hud speedometer is not calibrated out of the box. This is something you must do. If you do not calibrate it the speed you see will be off by 5 or more mph. I had to lower the default 107 down to 102 to see an increase in correct speed reporting. It also has lights at the bottom white, blue and red to indicate coolant temp which I found to be a neat feature. Overall I am pleased with the product but the speedometer issue can irk new users.

I just bought a 2018 Rav 4 and love evrything about it except the speedometer. It has a digital window which seems to be the best place to put a digital display of your speed. But no, Toyota decided to restrict the digital speedometer to higher trim lines and later models. I checked the review boards and found that other people had this same complaint. The analog speedometer goes to 140 mph and the speeds in the range that normal people would use are just too hard to read. I researched the possibility of changing out the speedometer but it got expensive fast. Then I ran into something called HUD and immediately thought of low income housing but found out it stands for heads up display. I looked at several models on Amazon and decided on the PHUD19 from Pyle. I was prepared to return it as soon as I found out it doesn't work or doesn't do what I need. As a result of my experiences the past few weeks, I felt compelled to tell other Rav 4 owners about this revelation. You plug it into the cigarette lighter and stick it to the top of your dashboard. (Installation complete) Then you crank up and go down the street. This little box informs you in very plain numbers what your speed is. What else were you expecting? It sticks to the dash using a sticky disk. The glue reminds me of what's on a post-it note. I would like to find out if replacement pads are available. Seems to me this glue has to wear out sooner or later. If not, I'll just use adhesive velcro strips. In my opinion, for $40, Pyle has a winner.

It took 5min to place/hook up, we unplug it as the instructions state to turn it off if not using the vehicle for longer than so long, but since we haven’t figured that out yet just unplug it. Was showing “double number” until I used the provided sheet - Works as expected for the price. Very happy. She did figure out she could leave it plugged in & it would turn off. However it started cutting out the past few days and no longer turns on now. 2 months of use. Maybe leaving it plugged in did it, or heat. I was going to buy another for my truck, not now unfortunately

Very easy to setup and to use. A little slow to start but once it gets to the actually speed you are traveling it is quite accurate. I bought this for the MPH for my Japanese imported Land Cruiser. First I got it calculated by using one of my other vehicles that I know is dead on. Once mounted in my land Cruiser I checked the read out to the kilometers and it was dead on. Great Product...
