Whe have been using theses locks for over a decade. After 13 years of being in the weather and lots of use, our Simplex 904 finally quit. I didn't know the model number of our Simplex door lock, so I called the factory...and spoke with their customer service department. Nice people. After I explained what I needed...they quickly gave me two options bassed on the thickness of our door. I ordered the Simplex 904 door lock. It arrived by 2:00 p.m. today and is now protecting our clubhouse. Great product...recommended. And, since it's totally mechanical...no batteries...yay!
I bought this as a replacement for the identical lock that was purchased about 25 years ago. The quality of this lock is much less, as some of the components appear to be plastic. There is a slip clutch that prevents the deadbolt from moving if there is much pressure on it, the mechanism just slips when the turn key is engaged, and it doesn't move the deadbolt. This is quite unlike my original lock which worked flawlessly for 25+ years, until eventually a couple of the keypad buttons failed. I recently installed one of these as a replacement, and then had so much issue with the slip clutch mechanism not allowing the turn key to move the deadbolt, that I returned it and requested another, thinking it was defective. The second replacement lock exhibits the same symptoms. The turn key will not move the deadbolt if there is even minor pressure on it. I don't have much hope that this new lock will last anywhere near as long as my first one.

I bought an entire simplisafe system based on reviews and I'm regretting the decision. Door lock works about 80 percent of the time but the 20 percent it doesn't sucks. Doorbell camera sometimes captures motion sometimes it just "looses connection" in the middle of a recording. I have great WIFI signal, everything is very close with strong signal and no contention but still this happens often. I'm paying 27 a month for monitoring too. I'm thinking if I can sell the whole system and recoup 50 percent of my investment I will.

I installed this lock a little less than a month ago. I have had so many issues that I’m about to take it out and reinstall my traditional lock while I shop around for something else. The auto lock feature tries to lock when the door isn’t even shut. If the door isn’t closed good, like if you leave it cracked so you can make multiple trip to the car, the lock will jam and you’ll have to move the inside plate back to its place or else it’s at a diagonal on the inside of the door, unlock it all the way, and start all over. The plastic “adapter” piece feels very flimsy and that’s probably the piece that is already crapping out, and why I was locked out of my house with the keys in my hand. The lock would not unlock. Not with the keypad, not with the app, and not with the key. I could feel the lock going all the way into the locked position, but it would not completely unlock. I thought I was going to have to break my door down. My home may be secure, but what good does that do me if I can’t get inside myself?

Bought this to help make home access easier but after getting it installed, the lock would not calibrate. I called Support and after 30 minutes on hold, got an agent that did not understand the product or the user interface. She was giving instructions without any clue of what I the customer was seeing. I asked for a supervisor, she placed me on hold, came back to check and would not give me her name. After another 20 minutes, and after I uninstalled the lock, I noticed my system was activated remotely and my connection with the agent ended. Then a Supervisor called. Over 60 minutes of frustration. I will buy an extra key. Much easier, less expensive and reliable.
Fast and simple to setup... just make sure you already have SimpliSafe. Took under 10 minutes to install... hardest part was finding a location for the PIN pad outside.
