The problem with Proctor Silex Helix was if you had a dense batter like banana bread the batter creeped up the beater bars making it difficult to use and clean afterwards. I found the Hamilton Beach mixer although not a high-tech appliance did not have any issues and does a fine job with any type of batter and is easy to clean afterwards.
