I love French Vanilla/Vanilla coffee. The formerly Swedish coffee company has always made my favorite of this variety. However, it is becoming increasingly expensive, so I have been searching for an alternative. "AmazonFresh French Vanilla Flavored Coffee, Ground, Medium Roast, 12 Ounce" sounded as if it would be promising and the price was definitely appealing. During brewing, the coffee had a pleasant, but undefinable fragrance. The brew, made using 1/2 c. coffee for 6 cups of coffee, was as dark as my usual coffee. As I drew the cup toward me, I noticed a stronger, slightly sweet and fruity fragrance. Upon tasting the coffee, it seemed as if raspberry flavoring had been mistakenly added to the mixture. While not unpleasant, raspberry is not a flavored coffee I would purchase. Had the flavor been evenly remotely vanilla, I would have rated this as a 5-star product.
