Amazing nail design for exotic hardwood without splitting the tongue. I was using other 18-g L-Cleat brands (Porta and Freeman nails), and both were splitting 30% of the tongues at 80 PSI with a light tap that sometime doesn't always go plush into the tongue. I am DIY guy in the process of installing 1800 sq. of 3/4" x 5" Patagonian Rosewood from LL. This nail allows me to set at 90PSI and tap it full force to get it plush wiith just about 2-3% of splitting. The high split rate is definitely due to the quality of the wood planks, and we were told by all the contractors that we tried to hire that LL hardwood are not the easiest to work with (due to quality issue). Shipment arrive quick and in great condition.
