Ridiculously expensive. You can buy a ceramic coated fry pan for less than the cost of this knob. And why does Le Creuset sell a $300 pan with a plastic knob that can't be used in an oven, thus forcing you to buy this? It looks ok, but not really that nice. Its kind of a bright gold/bronze which looks slightly cheap. In retrospect, I could have probably bought a knob for another brand. Its just a simple screw holding it on. Its not like something special that needs to be imported.

I finally purchased a long coveted Le Creuset dutch oven at my local big box store, but it came with a lid handle that was only rated for 350 F. I bake bread in my dutch oven and needed a more heat resisted lid handle. Glad I was able to find this on Amazon. Even with buying this replacement, the dutch oven was a still a great deal.
