I was skeptical on buying this product due to all the bad reviews about the paint chipping off when tightening the bolts. Well I believe they solved this issue by now providing washers with the mounting bolts that are rubberized on one side. I was still paranoid about the paint chipping off so I sprayed a little silicone on the rubber washers just to be sure they went on smooth. No paint chip-age. Product looks, feels, and works great.

I have a 1996 Pontiac Trans Am. It fit perfectly, and is much lighter than the OEM one that was on my car! No gasket needed, just put on with silicone. The nicest thing is that you can drain and refill it, without removing the cover! I would highly recommend this product!

The quality of the part was excellent; one star deducted because it doesn't fit the 8" ring gear axle that came with my truck, even though Amazon's "check fit" database says it does. This cover fits optional, heavier-duty axles, not the standard 8.0 axle. Yukon makes a cover with a different part number for the 8.0. It is hard to find that cover in stock, and GM has discontinued the factory part.
Adds a nice touch to my shortbed stepside. Gm 10 bolt, yukon is a quality co. Installed with a felpro gasket (no leaks)!! Good price.
