We have five of the 4.0 Auto-Desiccator Cabinets in our laboratory. Three in the environmental lab and two in our Micro lab. We love them since we no longer have to mess with changing our old desiccant anymore. The humidity levels stay well below <30%RH, which is perfect for us. These cabinets were the best buys we have made in a long time.

We use this for drying out various types of tropical and sub tropical seeds. It gets down to about 17% relative humidity with nothing in it after 24 hours. My only concerns are that it only comes with 3 shelves even though there is 4 shelf slots. They likely are assuming you will want one shelf for tall items. I requested another shelf from customer service and am waiting for a response. The hygrometer is about 10 degrees off from my digital hygrometer so I am doing a calibration test right now on both to see which one is correct. The machine does make a quiet whirring noise from the small fan but it does not bother our office staff that much. You can only hear it when you are the only person with 20 feet of it and its really quiet. It is not an obnoxious noise. Well engineered product.
