This is the only product you should use when dealing with automotive rust. It kills it dead in its tracks.
It went on well and when cured it seems to provide a hard shell encapsulation to seal the rust. A light sanding before topcoat just to scuff the surface. I used this outdoors on rusty nail heads on a portion of my cement siding prior to painting so odor was not a issue. Time will tell.

This stuff is awesome! Bought it to paint the already rust free undercarriage of my 71 Nova but ended up using it on some natural gas pipes outside that the plumber forgot to paint when he installed them for my grill. It's one of those do it once and do it right situations. Don't be a cheapskate!

I've been a long time user of POR15 products. This thing is amazing.
POR-15 is an amazing product. I first starting using it in 1998. Highly+ recommended. Only problem I have with this purchase is the flimsy can that it came in. When POR-15 dries, it dries forever. So.... I wanted to have a clean piece of plastic wrap between the can and the lid so I could use it later on. When I applied force to the top of the (pint) can with a rubber mallet, it crumpled like a beer can. I have sealed paints and varnishes the same way for 40+ years. POR-15 should have spent an extra 5-7 cents on the can.
