This is 2mm and perfect for completing cotton face masks. Although not elastic it is what is needed and is washable. Look at the materiel properties and it is durable. The 2mm is the thickness of a draw blind strings or similar to some shoe string lock kits. A cord lock stopper/toggle (SGT Knots has quality cord lock stoppers) with wide enough opening will do. For the over ears the single works great. I have ordered the mandala flat elastic 1/4 inch as it is available and waiting to use this as well when arrives.
