It seems to make the filters last longer and stay cleaner. You are supposed to use a cap full for a gallon of water, but it is hard to pour from this bottle. If the bottle design was better, I'd give it five stars. It's a little pricey too, but the time it saves and the filters it saves makes it worth while.

I put the amount that was directed on the bottle but it tends to suds up a bit. I also think it has messed with the filters in my new portable evaporative cooler. When I first turn it on and start the water, it spits droplets out. This did not happen at first, it has occurred over the following few days use. I believe this sudsy gunk has built up in those filters. But, I will have to take it apart to see. I think I will cut back and then when I run out, or probably sooner, I will just use a vinegar solution. I may have to use that to clean the filters. And, vinegar is great for keeping lime scale and alkali deposits down.
