I always try to buy from American based companies, which is why I decided to spend twice as much for the Adafruit instead of the cheaper Chinese branded boards. Unfortunately the quality I expected from Adafruit wasn't there at all. Both units failed to work on anything other than 3" jumpers. If the leads were any longer the Raspberry Pi would fail to get the correct device ID. I ordered two different brand Chinese ones and both worked off 5' leads without an issue. If you plan to use these for Klipper don't bother. The cheaper boards actually work. If your project needs the unit to be right on the RPi then if you want to spend twice as much get this unit.

Triple checked the wiring, ran successful continuity tests on all the cables, will not work.
This module attaches easily, and reference code has it running in minutes. Great response with a 3-axis gyro functionality in addition to basic accelerometer vibration response. I've used several of these, with the host Arduino broadcasting serial data at a high rate for use in industrial projects.
Save your money, cheaper smaller boards out there for 3D printing or other needs.
